Generative AI Disclosure

Last Updated: July 29, 2026

At Cocoboko Studios, we believe that generative AI (GenAI) is a software tool—no different in principle than a compiler, search engine, spreadsheet, or photo editor. Like any tool, its value depends on how it is used.

Our goal is to use GenAI to improve productivity by reducing repetitive work, assisting with research and organization, and helping us spend more time on the work that benefits most from human creativity and expertise.

GenAI is not a substitute for human creativity, critical thinking, judgment, or accountability. Every decision, design, and piece of content that becomes part of our games remains the responsibility of a human.

While GenAI can produce text, images, audio, and other creative outputs, we do not consider it a replacement for human artistry or creativity. We have experimented with these tools in a variety of ways to understand where they provide value—and where they do not.

Where We Use GenAI

We currently use GenAI to assist with tasks such as:

  • Brainstorming
  • Concept refinement
  • Writing assistance (editing, grammar, formatting, and proofreading)
  • Marketing asset editing and clean-up
  • Audio transcription
  • Spreadsheet and budgeting assistance
  • Resource and data modelling
  • Code assistance, learning, testing, experimentation, and refactoring

These uses are intended to support our work—not replace human decision-making or creative ownership.

Where We Do Not Use GenAI

We do not use GenAI to create production or temporary creative assets, including:

  • Art or visual assets
  • Music or sound effects
  • Dialogue or narrative writing
  • Marketing or promotional artwork
  • Creative communications, such as social media posts or blog articles

These materials are created by humans.

Practices We No Longer Use

As our understanding of these tools has evolved, we have chosen to stop using GenAI for:

  • Temporary art assets
  • Marketing asset creation
  • Dialogue generation

Our Commitment

We view GenAI as one tool among many that can improve the way we work, but it does not replace the creativity, craftsmanship, or responsibility of the people building our games.

As the technology evolves, we will continue to evaluate where it provides meaningful value while staying true to our commitment to human creativity and transparent development. This disclosure will be updated if our practices materially change.
